Nifco Inc. (hereinafter "Nifco") is pleased to announce that it has achieved the highest rating of "AAA" for the first time, up from the previous rating of "AA", in the MSCI ESG Ratings, which rate companies from an ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) perspective.
MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International, Inc.), a U.S.-based company, evaluates companies in 23 major countries around the world, including Japan, based on their ESG-related performance and rates them on a seven-point scale from "AAA," the highest, to "CCC," the lowest. As of October 2023, there were 34 ACWI Index companies in the automotive components sector, of which 6% achieved the "AAA" rating.
Nifco will continue to promote sustainability initiatives and contribute to solving social issues through its business activities based on its strength in fastening technology, while aiming to enhance its corporate value.
