Nifco Inc. (Headquarters: Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Pref., President: Masaharu Shibao, hereinafter “Nifco”) has invested in LexxPluss Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "LexxPluss"), a start-up company that aims to solve the problems of the logistics and manufacturing industries that support Japan's infrastructure with the mission of "accelerating the evolution to autonomous industrial infrastructure". The two companies will also begin joint development of automation solutions to solve social issues in the automotive maintenance industry.
While advanced safety equipment for automobiles is becoming widespread, the automobile maintenance industry is facing a growing need for "increasingly sophisticated maintenance" against to "chronic aging and labor shortages," and there is a need for dramatic improvements in labor productivity through labor saving and automation to address these issues.
To solve these social issues, under the slogan of "co-creation" set forth in the Medium-Term Management Plan, Nifco is collaborating with LexxPluss, which specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sales of robotics and automation products. We will create the future innovation together.
Since its founding, Nifco has provided solutions to improve labor productivity, mainly in the automobile manufacturing process, through automotive parts such as industrial fasteners. In the future, we will develop a variety of products and services that pursue “environmental friendliness, safety, and comfort”, with a view to responding to next-generation technologies in the automotive aftermarket, and actively take on the challenge of solving social issues. In addition, we will contribute to the “realization of a sustainable mobility society” throughout the entire value chain, and realize our corporate purpose of ‘Sparking innovation by fastening small insights with technology for a better world’.
