Nifco Inc. (Headquarters: Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Pref., President: Masaharu Shibao (hereinafter, Nifco) has commercialized its “Hot Cup Holder” with heat retention function (*first for minicars in Japan).

Recently, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) there has been an increase in the number of people eating and drinking in their cars after taking away food to avoid close contact with other people.
In addition, activities which warm the body are becoming more popular due to increasing health-consciousness and more women are wanting to avoid their bodies being cold.
Based on the know-how that Nifco has developed over the years, as well as the technology it has cultivated through the design and development of various resin products, Nifco has developed a lightweight and safe cup holder with excellent heat retention properties that allows hot drinks to be enjoyed for a long time even in the car.
In collaboration with Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd., we developed a “Hot Cup Holder” and started mass production. This product is installed in Daihatsu’s MOVE CANBUS and provides a comfortable private space.

＜Product Characteristics＞

  • Used a hot PET bottle (275ml 55℃) and the temperature remained above 42℃ after 2 hrs.

  • Lightweight and space-efficient design consisting of a resin-molded cup holder, a PTC heater wrapped around the sides, aluminum tape that diffuses heat, and a heat insulating material that reduces heat loss and increases efficiency.

  • Energy-saving design that achieves optimal power consumption with the self-temperature control function of the PTC heater, and safety that keeps the maximum temperature of the inner surface of the cup holder under 60℃ during operation.
