Nifco Inc. (Headquarters: Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Pref., hereinafter "Nifco") will establish self-delivering solar power plants in cooperation with close suppliers to expand the introduction of renewable energy, and will begin "self-delivering" and "surplus power sales" from October 1, 2025.

1. Overview of the Scheme

  1. A solar power plant (PV) owned by Nifco was installed on the roof of Miyoshi Logistics Center, Kaneyoshi Corporation (hereafter "Kaneyoshi"). It will be the largest 1.8MW solar power generation facility in 60Hz zone (*). With this introduction, the renewable energy ratio increased by 4.1%, which is 5.9% in combination with conventional solar power. CO ₂ emissions (Scope2) are expected to be reduced by 4.4%, and a combined reduction of 6.2% (equivalent to 1,049t-CO ₂) due to existing facilities.
Range: Domestic parent company and domestic group companies

  2. The electricity generated here is transported to Nifco’s Nagoya Plant (Toyota City), located approximately 8 km away.

  3. By combining self-delivering with a surplus power sales system, it will be possible to address the waste and cost issues of electricity generated by large-scale power plants.

  4. Although the installation area will exceed 8,000 m2, this scheme will be made possible by utilizing the rooftop of the Kaneyoshi’s Miyoshi Logistics Center, which has a close supply chain connection with Nifco.

  5. DIGITAL GRID Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Digital Grid") will utilize the Digital Grid Platform (DGP), a system that enables power producers and consumers to buy and sell electricity directly, to forecast power generation, submit plans, and sell surplus power to the power exchange.

  6. The design, construction, operation and maintenance of this photovoltaic power plant (PV) will be carried out by FD Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "FD").

2.Social and Technical Significance of the Scheme

(Social and technical significance)
Under the system of self-delivering, the installation of a large-scale power plant that exceeds the amount of electricity demanded has been an issue.
Under this scheme, Nifco's Nagoya Plant sells surplus electricity to the market during long holidays when electricity consumption is low, thereby solving the problem related to large-scale power plants and maximizing the contribution to CO₂ reduction.

 (Contribution to communities)
By locally producing and consuming surplus electricity, which is a renewable energy source, we can contribute to the decarbonization of the region.
